Ya I have the same thought cause the decoder is extremely hot.

No issues so far. It was 105 degrees outside on Saturday, and I drove for 2 hours in the middle of the day, so that was probably a good test.

Got mine in the mail on Saturday. About to install these this week. I really like the heat wrap tube idea. Gonna have to give that a try.

Hey I've purchased the regular DRL with Decoder for my setup, but my fuses keep blowing up and it never turns on. Anyone have any idea what the problem might be ?

make sure you have the polarity correct on the connector between the car and the decoder. (just make sure the red wire is going to the red wire) My connectors were bakwards from iJDM, so I switched the pins.

I'm glad I looked for the presence of a hidden screw before I tried to pry it open, makes things much easier. As you will see the circuit board and capacitors inside are considerably smaller than the box itself! In order to keep things protected from short circuiting I planned to get some heat shrink tubing from Lowes to slide over the electronics before putting it inside the light housing, however all they had was really small diameter stuff in stock, so I'll hit up Home Depot tomorrow, I know for a fact they have the big stuff there. Once I get the tubing on to protect the electronics I'll try stuffing it all inside the DRL side of the housing, and from the looks of it we should be in good shape.

I'll post up more pics tomorrow as I progress...
How's your setup been holding up with the decoder box inside the dust cover? Any overheating issues?

I did the same as OP posted. Been going on 3 years now no issues. Except that I used the full cree LED version 50W. Which I think has 10 bulbs only. They are about 5K HID equivalent, and extremely bright. The new 80W version has 16 bulbs. It's actually way cheaper than before, and I'm thinking of getting them. Since they'll be a tad brighter. Also for the IS you'll need the R4 decoder from ijdmtoy. Follow OP's instructions when installing.

They discontinued it and only offer the 80W version now.
