Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions on how to install rear footwell led lights? I would like to have them match the front and have them function the same way the front ones do. (Dimming while the car is in gear and normal when the car is parked)

as long as you tap into same wires in the front, they'll work just like the front (i.e. dimming)

i have replaced front led with led strip and also mounted pair of led strip under back seat (bottom side of folding map pocket) and ran the wires (from under the carpet underneath the seat to) the front door sills to the wires under the dash.

I was thinking about doing the same thing but how do I get the wires underneath the carpet?

you can slice a "X" just big enough to feed the wire through then fish hook it so it comes out under the front door sill. This method, there are no visible wires from any angle.
Just give wires some slack so there's no tension when the seat moves forward/backwards.

I kinda get what you're saying, can you give me more details on exactly how to do this? Possibly step by step? I've been wanting to do this for a while now but never knew exactly how to go about it while still having a clean install without wires all over the place

Everything that Kentaro said is good.
I've done the same. Follow his procedure and you'll be fine.

Try following steps from following link for the front

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...rket-leds.html

and as for the rear, you'll understand/see it more clear where/how to run the wires to the front once door sills and panels under the dash are off.

few tips

-Depending on where you purchase after market leds/led strips, you might need to buy extra wires since most of them will not come with enough wires to run from the rear to the front.

-purchase all (4) leds/led strips from same vendor/store. not all "blue" are the same shade if bought from more than one place/site.

-if using led strip, apply alcohol wipes on the area where the strip will be mounted before you stick them on. This will make sure the strip stays on even on hotter days.

Thank you! I will try this soon and post the results, hopefully I get to it soon!

here is a pic to give you an idea.
the rear seems brighter in the picture but all 4 are the same brightness.
Think it's just the angle of the picture
(sorry for the poor quality)
