Hey guys,

I've finally decided to get on the bandwagon and purchase a Vaistech ML+, just to find out that they have discontinued it due to the new Apple iOS and new connectors. Release date is TBA but the guy from VT(Ben) said that they're shooting for around this coming July.

What other comparable if not better devices/units are there that would work the same way? I would like to be able to play videos/movies/Pandora/YouTube through my Navigation screen (Non-ML) without having to use an external DVD player. I would like to be able to just use either my Iphone5, Itouch, or through USB or any mass storage device to play videos. It would be a plus if the output for both audio and video is DIGITAL.

Thank you!!!

ps. it's not an April Fools Joke! LOL

In my opinion, VaisTech at one point use to be a great company focused on customer satisfaction. The ML+ is relatively new and should be supportable. Instead, the company abandoned it and it's user base and built another product iVIC for Android. I get the idea that companies need more products for more revenue, but the lost promises to further the ML+ is disappointing. Look at the forums and look read about building apps for the ML+. The only one that was built was Pandora. They sold a good story. I've been a long time customer from the SL2i, SL2Vi, and ML+ and have had it on 3 vehicles. I've owned 5 devices from them but looking to other solutions.

Couldnt you just use the connector adapter to go from 30 pin to the new small one? I have one for my office but havent tried it in the car yet. The IOS version on my 4gs and 5 are the same...not sure what the issue is.

The adapter works only in mp3 emulation mode. You don't get to display the album cover art or any videos. It basically is an expensive SL2i.

I've been doing some research and one that seems to be comparable is NAV-TV. Anyone have any experiences with that product?

Yeah with the new Lightning Cable and the new iOS, video output is not supported and that was my main reason why I wanted the ML+

Anybody else have any suggestions/experience on a video output to the nav screen besides the ML+?

Much appreciated, thanks!

I'll bump it. I was contemplating getting my hands on one for all the reasons described above, but if they're discontinuing it... So I guess I'll echo the other questions - is there anything else out there that does this? Or does anyone know what VT plans to do? Thanks

They are planning to release iVIC that will be IOS compatible. This is why it's disappointing. They came out with an Android compatible unit and then completely discontinued any efforts on the ML+. Judging from their forums, it's going to be awhile before they release it.

That just means it's time for you to upgrade to a REAL smartphone and get yourself an Android.

Nice. I actually have both. That said, I'm not a fan of Vais anymore. It seems like they just abandon their customers without much consideration...too many broken promises on the ML+ and I have had at least 3 generations of their devices.

This +1. I lost a plastic volt converter (old ipod to new gen) a few months back and they told me that they no longer sold the conversion plugs and that I needed to purchase a redesigned cable for $60.00 (Vaistech if you want to contradict me I still have your email on file) which was completely unreasonable . Ended up sourcing the piece over seas for about ~ $1.02 a piece

Has anyone integrated an Apple TV. If so, using AirPlay is the best way to wireless use an iPhone. That would be awesome.

I'm too impatient waiting for the iVIC for the iphone5, I think I might try this set up.
