Hey guys,
I know the main way to tell if you have the ML premium sound package in your 2is is if you see the symbol on the radio deck. However, I have yet to see the 2is I'm purchasing in person yet.

I have been reading online that if you have navigation, then the 07 automatically comes bundled with the ML Audio. is this true?

As i know, ML package is an optional so it's not automatic has ML on 07 model unless you got luxury package

 

hm, ok..seems to me like a lot of sites doing reviews are wrong online then. including US News. thanks for the info! I'll know for sure this weekend..

I believe it's a stand alone option. My07 has nav and luxury package and no ML.

 

My 06 is base with ML

It was my understanding that ML was a $1000 option. You needed navigation in order to have the ML sound system, but having nav does not guarantee the ML package is equipped. On top of upgraded speakers you also can play DVDs, which you cannot do on the standard nav system. I did not know that you could get ML without nav.

No, Mark Levinson was not part of the luxury or any option package.

No, quite the opposite. At least here in the northeast it was nearly impossible to find a car on the dealers lot equipped with Mark Levinson, even on otherwise loaded cars.


The Mark Levinson stereo could be ordered on cars without navigation, but it's very unusual to find a car so equipped.

 

is the ML system as good as say.,... a BOSE system for your car that came standard? (i had it in my old altima)

 

from what I'm hearing ML is one of the best car sound packages ever. Also, Bose is not that good anyway :P I don't consider myself an audiophile, but Bose is only one step above the marketing scams of Beats By Dre (another scam! and garbage sound for the price!) Mark Levinson sound packages for cars are a high level branch of Pioneer.

On the ISFs shipped to PR during 2008, ML without Nav was the standard.

Also, the rest of the IS models were optional aside from the traditional packages.

 

Having sold Lesus for several years 2005-8, we rarely got IS's with Mark Levinson. I think I may have seen 3 or 4, until the F came out. All of them, of course were ML. It was also very much a region specific option. Other regions may have gotten more than the Southeast.

 

Mark Levinson is a Harmon brand (just like JBL for Toyota models).

I had Bose on my Nissan 350Z before the sound can't even compare to the standard speaker on the Lexus. Lexus speaker sound much better. I don't have a chance to hear Mark Levison on the Lexus before but it suppose to be better than the standard speaker.

 

Yep sounds amazing until you blow the sub... Which is a common issue on the ML system. Be careful when if you listen to your music loudly and with a lot of bass. I had blown a sub and the center channel, luckily when I was still under warranty
