I apologize if I was wrong. I was told by my lexus dealer that the Mark Levinson package was from Pioneer, basically similar speakers and higher rated amp (not surprised getting wrong info from the dealer again!)

Yeah, unfortunately they aren't always in the know.

To clarify: the head unit is still provided by Pioneer, however the amplifier and speakers are all from Mark Levinson (Harmon International).

Jeff do you know if it is possible to ad the Mark Levinson amp and speakers? I do have the Nav and the 6 CD player marked P1809. Has anybody done this?

It obviously can be done, but not easily or cost effectively. There are way too many differences.

Maybe if you found a crashed car.

I have been reading online that if you have navigation, then the 07 automatically comes bundled with the ML Audio. is this true?

This is not true.

It doesn't matter the year, 06-13 or Sport / Luxury Package, Nav or no Nav...
ML is a standalone option. It is never automatically applied on any car.
On (06-08) you could get ML without Nav but from (09-13) you have to have nav to get ML.

The base system in the IS is Pioneer based. If you have ML then they are ML speakers.

Did you ever find out? If you get me the VIN I can check for you.

It was never standard, whether you bought base, Lux Pkg, Sport Pkg or Premium Pkg. It was always an additional option. I have an '07, Lux Pkg with Nav, no ML.

No, quite the opposite. At least here in the northeast it was nearly impossible to find a car on the dealers lot equipped with Mark Levinson, even on otherwise loaded cars.

The Mark Levinson stereo could be ordered on cars without navigation, but it's very unusual to find a car so equipped.
^^What he said.

To reiterate and confirm, Mark Levinson was always a standalone option, it was never part of another package.

2006-2008 it could be had with or without navigation.
2009-2013 it could only be had with navigation.

With navigation it included a DVD changer.
