Hey everyone,

Am I really going to be gaining anything if I pay the extra money to get a younger car? I have found an 06 that has a great price but I am not sure if I want a car that old. Does it make a difference with the IS 350's?

Also, I am in Minnesota and the car is in New York. What is the easiest way about getting the car? Do I fly to New York and test drive it and drive it back? Or do I just ship the car here hope the it is in good condition when it gets here and not test drive it?

Thanks again!

IMO Avoid the risk of not liking it if its shipped and Fly to New York and test drive it and drive it back.

Do not buy without seeing the car in person or test driving it. That is just asking for trouble. As for the car being "old" as an '06, it is all relative to the cars mileage and maintenance history. I have an '06 and it's in very good shape. If I were looking for another, I wouldn't hesitate to buy an '06 now.

I have an 06 and picked it up with 35k on the clock, I now have 102k on it and still am as happy as could be. If you find a good car, well taken care of age is nothing but a number. The one thing I will caution though are the moderate updates. I find myself missing some of the updates like led mirror turn signals and updated headlights.

Just my 2 cents!

i got a 06 with 45k on it and still looks/feels like a new car
however i had test drove one with 70k on it and it felt old. suspension felt loose, interior looked worn
i recommend doing a used car insepection before buying any car

Watch out for the flood cars in NYC and Jersey. They are out there. IMHO the 06-08 has the best look, i.e rear tail lights. Like those the best. Not a fan of the 09-12 rear lights. Miles are nothing but a number. I have almost 95k on my car now and it is still tight as a drum. Runs like a champ. Sure I like the new headlights but the un attractive rear makes up for the difference. Just my opinion. Definitely look and test drive in person. Don't take a sellers word for it... because after all they are trying to sell the car and will say ou ything to get it gone. Good luck with your hunt.

I flew into NJ to pick-up my '06 350 in April '11. BEST DECISION EVER! Loved it (and still do!); and the price couldn't be beat ANYWHERE in the US. Drove it home from NJ to SC. Don't let the location of the car deter you from getting it. I saved thousands getting the one I did versus others in the GA/FL areas.

DO NOT purchase the car w/o a test drive and thorough look-through.
