Cool To mod or Not?

Hey guys,
So my IS350 has ~13,xxx miles on it and the warranty is covered until 50,xxx.
I want to add the tanabe exhaust with the megan mid pipe, but that would void my warranty.

Should I wait or go on with the upgrade?

where are you specifically in SOCAL? some dealerships are mod friendly (as getting an exhaust shouldn't do anything to mess up the engine, etc.)

or you can do what some of the homies do and swap it out each time you go into the dealership

That would void your cars warranty on the exhaust and midpipe or any other related part.

If you nav fails they cannot blame your exhaust, dont let that discourage you

Go for it, many of us on here have done that. Those can't really mess up your car causing your warranty to e void.

Definitely do it! After having the Tanabe/Invidia combo on my car for a year, I can't imagine driving it with the stock exhaust. You will be glad you did.

There is a law that doesn't allow for them to void your whole warranty for aftermarket parts that aren't related to any claim you make:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuso...s_Warranty_Act

So if you add an exhaust and mid-pipe, it's not going to void your entire warranty. However if you start having an exhaust related issue, it wont be covered under the warranty. But if your transmission suddenly clunks out, they can't just void your warranty claim because of the exhaust. You can always confirm with your dealer if you are unsure too, but many members here have modded cars and have had no issues with warranties being voided.

shouldn't void warranty...... brought mine to dealer with full exhaust and they didn't say anything other than loving how it sounds.

Now I don't want to diss anyone here, but I would be safe and take the 10 minutes to call a local dealership to 100% confirm what people are saying. Better to be safe than sorry!!

I love the virginity of the car, so modding is not recommended
