To mod or Not?
Hey guys,
So my IS350 has ~13,xxx miles on it and the warranty is covered until 50,xxx.
I want to add the tanabe exhaust with the megan mid pipe, but that would void my warranty.
Should I wait or go on with the upgrade?

where are you specifically in SOCAL? some dealerships are mod friendly (as getting an exhaust shouldn't do anything to mess up the engine, etc.)
or you can do what some of the homies do and swap it out each time you go into the dealership

I taken mine to the dealer for work and they haven't said anything and mine it's under factory + I bought the extended warranty till 120000 miles to be in the safe side!! I have the hks on mine and tein suspension, so I suggest to ask how far can u go on mods before ur warranty it's void!!
If you nav fails they cannot blame your exhaust, dont let that discourage you

There is a law that doesn't allow for them to void your whole warranty for aftermarket parts that aren't related to any claim you make:

So if you add an exhaust and mid-pipe, it's not going to void your entire warranty. However if you start having an exhaust related issue, it wont be covered under the warranty. But if your transmission suddenly clunks out, they can't just void your warranty claim because of the exhaust. You can always confirm with your dealer if you are unsure too, but many members here have modded cars and have had no issues with warranties being voided.
