Default Auto light feature problem

I have an 06 IS350, with non HID lights with an aftermarket HID kit and I have it set on auto mode. For some reason my lights randomly turn on during the day with the sun light gleaming on the car. Any ideas on what to do?

the sensor for the headlight is against the windshield on the dash ... if something is blocking it or if there is a bit of shade hitting that area for a pre-determined length of time (:30 seconds to 2 min.. not sure the exact time) it can trigger the headlights ...

Well I guess if a shadow is on the light sensor long enough the lights will go off. Perhaps you have something sort of covering it?

Do you know exactly where the sensor is?

It looks like a little dome. Right against the window. Passenger side of the dash
