My new IS350 !:)
My new baby has on 72,000kms on odometer. It is a 2008 lexus is350 and I bought it for $23000 after tax. What do you guys think about the deal??? I would need you guys' suggestions on where I should go for the following items:
- Engine oil (synthetic) & fluids changes
- Rust Proof
That is what they say I should do when I purchase a 2nd hand car, would you guys recommend me to have a full inspection on my car too? Are there anymore I should do to when purchasing a second hand vehicle?
Should I go to Lexus dealer to do my regular maintenance or just go to some small & cheap auto shops (any recommendation?) I mean is it worth to spend the extra money to go to a Lexus dealer ?

U did look over the car real good and test drove it before u bought it right? Does it at least look like its been kept in good shape, clean title, did u look at the car fax, maintenance records etc.. if all of that checks out then you have nothin to worry about. I wouldn't goto a "cheap" shop. I'd goto a shop thats reputable and have experience with Lexus vechicles if you can't afford to goto the dealership. For little stuff like oil changes save yourself the money and do it yourself. Or if you're really handy there's plenty of DIY maintenance guides here on CL. Just use the search
Congrats on your new car and welcome to CL!
Seems like you got a pretty good deal on yours! I don't know where you would go for rust proofing (I live in California - what is rust?
lol) but for the oil changes just find a good mechanic you trust and have them do it. Or if the dealer isn't too expensive, have it done there. I personally bring my own oil and the dealer charges just the labor. It's still a little more expensive then smaller shops, but it goes onto the service record online and hey..... I get to enjoy wifi and "free" donuts and soda while I wait
