Ive never been into rims much, so I was curious about this. I always thought OEM rims where built stronger than aftermarket. I see many inexpensive replica sets on ebay or craigslist. LFA style etc.

I wouldnt mind upgrading to 18" rims but NY the roads are terrrible and I dont wanna have dented rims from minor bumps or potholes. Sometimes you drive on the highway and you cant avoid them. I have hit some nasty bumps on the OEM rims and tires without any bubbles. or dents.

my 2008 IS i upgraded to Continental DWS tires and had bubbles from potholes but never bent rims.

So if you have any helpful info that would be great. I didnt want to spend more than $1000 on the rims.

You could look for a used set of the Lexus G-spyder wheels. They provide a nice refreshed look compared to the stock ones.

Well I have the 19" lfa reps as my beater set. I have nothing but good things to say about it. Fitment and quality is great price is great. I got mine through Kris Becker from gotoracingonline a great vendor here on CL. He hooked me up w a better price than ebay with tires and tpms. My car did come w the g spyders They were good wheels as well but I grew tired of the look and I always wanted the lfa reps as my beater set anyways. Gonna be throwing Blizzaks on them before winter.
