A quick question for all you Fly Audio owners:

For those of you who opted not to get the backup camera that comes with the Fly Audio unit, which backup camera did you get? I just installed my FA system today but I decided to give my friend the backup cam because I wanted one that looks more OEM. I need one that fits in the trunk hole. (Long story short, I swapped my non nav trunk with a nav trunk so I have the empty hole to fill.)

Also, do the little squares that show you the direction that your backing up show up on the FA unit? Or does it depend on what camera you get?

Thanks everyone

Since you have the lid with the camera whole, you need to find a camera that will match with the size of the square whole. Do a search on ebay for Toyota Camry camera.

The squares on the screen depend on the camera you use and they are not really helpful.

The Camry and IS trunk hole are the same? So would this work?

I posted in the flyaudio thread the camera that I got. Also what I did was make the hole where the oem camera would go which was an easy task with a dremel as the location is marked.

i just installed that same camera today for a customer of mine on his highlander. i have to say that that camera is a bad choice! the angle on the camera is too low! it only shows the bumpr and not whats behind you at all. i eeven told him, dont put this on and he says naaa just use it cause its made to fit here. so i did and the results are terrible, espically since its non adjustable. it looks factory installed when i fisnished the install, but i started laughing because 1st, the way its only points to the ground and grid is off, 2nd i know ill be changing it and doing 2x the work.

Hmm ok thanks for the heads up. Can you recommend me a camera that will fit in the oem hole in the trunk? Maybe any of these?

out of the three, the 2nd link looks to be the one i would choose. but its hard to say without actually installing it to see if the view is good. i understand you want oem, ebay has an oem camera off an IS. i usually use the license plate frame camera on my customers car. 1. they look good, 2. they are adjustable. downside is no factory look.

ebay camera from IS http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-2011-LE...71625f&vxp=mtr

Im def not paying over $200 for the backup cam. The one that came with my FA unit had pretty nice quality. I just want one that fits in the hole and has the same quality as the FA one.
