Recently, I've noticed that instead of one beep when opening/unlocking the driver door with my hand (smart key in pocket) I hear a long series of beeps... probably five or six in succession. I'm guessing this may be some sort of code but I'm not sure. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you sure you don't have an additional key inside the car, I think I recall something similar because I had left my second key inside my car when I first got it.

 

Yes, the additional key has been in a drawer in the house for years. This issue started recently, no change on my part. The warranty runs out in July, so I'm trying to get some background on the issue before bringing it up to the dealership.

I had mine do the same thing awhile back, something like 6 or 8 beeps. Ended up one of the door lock switches was broken, so only 3 of the 4 doors were unlocking. Next time it does it, you can just visually look at all doors from inside the car to see if all unlocked. Since I was getting the beep when locking the car too, basically I was leaving the car with one door unlocked without even knowing it.

 

Take it to the dealership. Same thing happened to me and they replaced some lock mechanism under warranty

 

Like they just stated; it's one of your door locking mechanisms. I had the drivers side go out, the next week the rear drivers side went out, and the following week the right rear doors went out. All have been replaced under warranty thank goodness. Anyways, everytime a door or multiple doors do not unlock and they are suppose to, the long beepings occur.

Hi 8UANEW1, just curious if you got the issue resolved – did it end up being the door locks like the others mentioned?

I'm hearing a succession of 10 beeps when unlocking my doors using the door handle (and keyfob in pocket). I inspected all the door locks and they seem to be working fine.

 

Similar but different issue guys. Keyfob in pocket, get out of the car and try to lock it via the dorr handle lock button, beeps for 10 seconds. Can't unlock it either by sliding my hand down the inside of the handle either. However can lock and unlock the car with the keyfob by pressing the buttons. Any ideas?
