Default Another TRC question

I have an 07 IS350 and after holding the traction control button down for 5 sec. the "trac off" and "Vsc off" lights come on, but the car will still not break the rear tires loose from a dead stop. Somehow feels like it is still engaged...

Other than this, the car runs great. Any idea's?

Also, does anyone know if the car disables the A/C at WOT?

Try it around a corner instead. It should be disabled until you turn off the car or hit the hit button again.

I don't get why you can't do it. Tires can't be THAT good. Haha you should just recklessly slam it...

A/C as in air conditioning? Doubtful.

You could try brake torquing to around 3k RPM's and then dropping the hammer. Almost guaranteed to break the wheels loose unless you're on a prepped track with slicks.

The AC compressor is variable displacement, so it's pretty much off at WOT (though the technical explanation is a bit more complex)... see here for more info:

and what tires are you on? Mine don't break loose when floored with the Hankook V12s, but they did with the crappy Turanzas the car came with.

I actually broke them loose a while ago, but I was on different pavement and had the power button thingy on. Pretty sure it had more to do with the road texture than anything. Before, I was on a tar and chip road and I guess it was a bit rough and sticky.

Anyhow, she's running great, so I'm not gonna complain.

As for the A/C, on my wife's caddy it would shut down the a/c at WOT. Just wondering if this Lexus would do the same so I would not have to turn it off when I wanted full power.

Thanks for the replies.
