Default Dash Bubbling

My dash is bubbling and looks terrible. I have a 2006 Lexus IS250. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do to fix it? I know there is no magical thing to put on it and make it go all the way. I'm thinking of pulling the dash out and having it wrapped in leather with a nice stitching. Has anyone done this? If so can you please post pics...thanks guys.

I know some members have had issues with the dash melting. If you search for "melting dash" you should be able to find some threads on the issue and see if that's what you're experiencing.

Thanks but its already too far gone. My dash looks like its having a herpes outbreak. Only thing now is replace it or wrap it.

Can you post some pictures? I've heard of dashes rattling and melting but never bubbling.

Also, what kind of other dashes has your dash been hanging around with? It's probably only proper to call those dashes and tell them to get checked.

Im currently at work but when I get home ill post some pictures. So I did a search and found there was a TSB on it. I called lexus headquarters and spoke with a representative. They told me to take it to a lexus dealer and have it inspected. Depending on their notes they may or may not replace it due to customer satisfaction. Its obvious that it's from a defect and not poor care. I even have tinted windows to help with this.

A lot of members have had luck going that route. Most of them end up with Lexus Corp paying for the part but you have to pay for the labor.

Also the best way to void this is to use a sunshade my sister and I use it every day and we've been furtunate that our dashes are good as new .

Thanks guys and I learned long ago armor all is terrible. I simply dust it with a dry cloth. If its bad I use a damp towel with baby shampoo. I use a sunshade when im parked at work, but problem is I bought my car used. It appears that it was not properly cared for prior. I am always careful with my car, while its not a fully loaded ls 460, I don't make much so it took a lot of savings and work to afford a base is250 so I want it to stay nice.

My car is an 06

Oh and I tried an ointment herpes cream and no luck. Don't ask why I had the cream to begin with.

making explicit reference of a dashboard issue to a STD makes me believe that someone has been in contact or close to someone with same issue.
Is that virtually contagious?
