and we dont know he doesnt have a cpo.

Point is, he should still go ask.

you are right though,if it is the 02 sensor, wont be covered under non cpo powertrain/emissions unless they feel generous.....which is what I was trying to say, but didnt do well.

but really, P2195 - doesn't always mean the sensor is bad. It could be caused by an air leak in the intake or somewhere else. I've seen it happen lots of times, that after an O2 sensor is changed, the same codes return. So diagnosing/testing the O2 sensor is necessary and a pain in the ***, which brings me back round to my first statement of trying to see if Lexus will take care of it for you.

CL is better than my.is because here, members will go into a debate and present the facts as knowledge permits or stated in previous threads/posts etc.
If one is wrong somebody will make sure to correct him/her.
But at the end, we're still a big IS family and help/support and guide others in the right direction.
Where else will you get that? Only at Club Lexus!!

Find your sensor below right side of battery.
Will you be performing this job yourself?

Thank you guys for all your input and debate. It was very entertaining and informational.

No, mine isn't a CPO, so I guess it won't be under warranty. I'll probably go get it checked out by the dealer and see if there is anything they can do to help me out. If it isn't covered under warranty or if they don't wanna do it for free, I'll probably attempt myself, though I am unsure how successful I'll be. Hah

Thank you guys. I'm liking this community more than my.is

Yes, do it yourself if you know what you will be doing and have the right tools.
A sonsor socket is a must if you try getting it from the top. There isn't enough space there.
Some members have not removed the computer under the battery. My mechanic did to avoid any complications. Be very careful when replacing the new one. You brake it, you buy a new one.
Two things that will help you
1. cold engine - it gets really hot there and may take about two hours for engine to cool off
2. w40 on the old sensor the night before if you are planing to do this the next morning/day.

also, if you purchase sensor from an auto parts, it's a special order and it may take up to three days for sensor to make it to the sotre( depending on the store you decide to go).

Don't worry!!! I had those lights and sensor failure for about a year. I only had to replace it because I hat to take my car to the smog test. Car drove great as it is now.

Good luck.
