my bros is250 completely stock lasted him about 28k down to the wear bar and its mostly city driving. Previous owner of my car lasted approx 25 to 33k mostly highway. I have hankook v12, i am down to 6/32 which is 50 left of usable thread after 8k. A good 30-40 percent of the miles on my hankooks were semi spirited mountain driving. OEM bridgestones dont last as long hankook v12s but depending on how you drive, alignment, camber, you can make those last well over 15k. I am referring to front tires.

I got 19k out of my rears and they were just about bald but my fronts look almost new and there was never any rotations done either. Monthly i check pressure and do not drive my car hard at all! Bone stock suspension too

I had the stock Bridgestone Turanza ER33 summer tires. I got 32,500 miles out of the fronts. Even then, the outside tread blocks had about 3/32 inch left, center had plenty, and the extreme inside edge was starting to wear at an angle. I don't run my tires down to the cords like I've seen others on this forum do, because I don't want to risk it in the rain. My rears are still going, at 36,000 miles now with about 5/32 inch left, worn evenly across the tire.
It's all about how you drive, your alignment (though it's debatable whether you can fix the IS's inside edge wear issue), and your tire pressures.

Your guys advice sounds more like it's for a FWD car that has a heavy transaxle sitting up front and puts all the drivetrain load through the front wheels too.
