Changing stock bridgestone 18" for the 2nd time in 18k miles?!?!?!
This is going to be the second time im changing tires on this car. I have an awd is 250 2014.
I have the 18" sports wheel. I've changed the front two tires at 8k miles; they were completely bald!!
Well, i was taking really harsh corners and pushing the car alot.
Here i am at 18k miles, and my front two tires are almost completely bald again! Inside and outside.
My sidewalls are cracking on my rear, so ill be replacing all four wheels.
I have not been pushing this car in the last 10k. I've been casually, daily driving this car in new york city roads.
Is this normal? I've gotten an 3 alignments already! After the new wheels are on, and just for safety reasons.
Yeah.. New york city has some horrible roads, I've heard falling into potholes can screw up your alignment
The stock tires are bridgestones! I am at stock height, non f sport height! Which i believe is a little lower than f sport.

wow thats terrible. yeah these stock tires stink. i am also in ny with a 350 fsport nearing 19k and will be changing out my tires for the first time. only because of bad camber wear that these tires for some reason are subject to. have seen other 3IS owners complain about it. my alignment is not off either. anyway steer clear of the OEM bridgestones. they have a terrible wear rate as the previous poster said

and you got had by the stealership on top of that too. get some Michelin Pilot Super Sports if you want performance. i like Continental DWS if you want some tires that are comfortable and last a little longer as well

Based on the reviews on Tire Rack the stock Bridgestone Potenza RE92 has horrible reviews and short thread life compared to other Bridgestone tires. I'm currently running Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport and it's a lot better than the stock tires. If you have the cash then just go for Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

It helps if you learn how to read tire specs.
Tire Rack has some good info on how to read them. Anyway treadwear rating on the oem Brigdestones is something like 140. The lower number usually means shorter tire wear life and the higher the rating the longer tire life. The positive trade off with lower tire rating is usually excellent grip. All season tires usually have a higher tire wear rating above 280+ up to 500 but don't grip as well as summer tires.

The stock 3IS F-sport comes with Bridgestone Pontenza RE050A (140 tread wear) series. Of course, they won't last long. I have the non-sport 3IS with the Dunlop SP Sport MAXX 050 summer tire ones and those are 280 tread wear. I heard great things about the Michellin Pilot Sport (~320-340 tread wear) or even the Bridgestone Pontenza RE760 (400 tread wear)

Also replacing my rear stock tires at 17k (tires delivered today). Im glad im not the only one having the same issue, I have been racking my brain as to why there may be such premature wear.

Seems like it varies quite a bit. When I traded in my IS at 16k miles, there was still enough tread left to CPO it without needing to buy new tires.

Agree. I have 26k miles on my OEM all seasons and I won't need to get new tires until later this year. They have lasted me through two PA winters with zero issues. I drive mostly all smooth highway though so I'm sure that's the reason they have lasted so well for me.

Recently changed to michelin pilot sport a/s 3+ and they're amazing so far. The handling of the car feels great compared to the oem tires. Although I bought my car used at 19k miles and i assume the previous owner used the same oem tires they lasted until 30k. But thise bridgestone turanza's were terrible tires.
