its the bulb the light is an hid which is run by gas. when u turn it on it lets out just enough gas to spark up but doesnt turn on. i had the same problem. order yourself a new pair of d4s hid bulbs. should run you no more than 75 dollars as long as you dont get them at the dealership for 200 each

Or also a ballast problem (more expensive for dealer as they are built in to the headlight)

The same exact thing happened to me last month and it was the bulbs so hopefully the dealer will pick up the tab. I wasn't that lucky.

well i think Lexus is picking up the tab for me because when i was in warranty i took my car there twice because of this issue but they always told me they couldn't duplicate the problem

Most likely just need new bulbs. I had this exact same issue with my '06, replaced the bulbs (D4S, think I paid around $70 a piece) and haven't had a problem since. Hopefully the dealer takes care of it for you.

Same thing happened to my 07 and it was the bulb, unfortunate part is the bulbs from being older will be a different color if you replace one. Take this opportunity to buy upgraded 6000k HID bulbs or if the dealer is replacing one make sure they replace both so they match.
