Anyone replacing the cabin filter be careful very very careful. Don't make the mistake I made. My car is at Lexus for repair or replacement of the servo motor for the cabin filter housing. My loaner car I got is an ES350. This car is big inside and out compared to the IS and has less power than the IS.
The lesson here is just "Read the manual before performing maintenance on your car".
Did you even check the above links for fixes before taking it to the dealer? The broken servo motor issue is extremely common on CL because it seems many people don't read the manual before replacing the filter. There are multiple threads on how to fix it yourself for far less than the dealership will charge. I mention this because I believe I saw other threads say the dealership quotes close to $1000 for this repair, and I certainly wouldn't pay that, I'd just do it myself.
