I just purchased a 2012 is350 awd in stp!! All I got done was 20% tint all around. Not sure what to do next... It's a really nice car and I'm loving it more and more each day. However there are a few things that worry me.. I noticed the car has a loud idle especially since its winter time and it's cold here in Philly. I took it to the dealer and they said that it's normal and the loaner is250 was loud also. Another thing is that the cars rpm goes up and down while im parked in the garage or when I'm stopped at a red light. The rpm would go as high as 2000 but normally bounces around 1000-1500 range while im at a stop. As the car warms up it does seem to go away little by little. Is this normal??

Congrats. Next mod is lower it and I would suggest led interior and matching hid fogs and low beams.

Welcome and congrats. Get yourself some f-sport sway bars. Yeah the idle is pretty loud, sounds like a diesel because of the direct injection

My 350's idle is pretty quiet. The rpm does rise to 1k when at a stop but only when engine is cold. It normally hovers around 550-600

My 350 is 6 yrs old and it doesn't do that jumping idle thing at all, no matter the weather conditions/temps.

My 12 IS350C does the high idle for a very short period of timeat start and never bounces around after that, very steady idle. Does not seem normal to me.

Congrats on the new purchase! You're going to love it! The idle fluctuation seems pretty normal in the first few minutes while the car warms up. If it continues to fluctuate after about 10 mins of driving, I'd be concerned. Mine typically idles around 700rpms after it's warmed up. If you're looking to mod, I'd definitely go with the F-sport sway bars. Order from Sewell and register as a CL member for some significant discounts (sway bars go from $505 down to $429 for CL members.)
