Default Fog Light Issue...

So I did a few searches but couldn't come up with any answers...

I have an 06 IS350 and I recently replaced the stock fog light bulbs for some NRG 9006 Yellow bulbs. The new bulbs have a higher wattage than stock with 65 watt. It was pointed out to me tonight by my girlfriend that my passenger side fog light is noticeably brighter than the drivers side. I rechecked the bulbs, the fuses and connectors and didn't notice anything wrong. Has anyone ever had this problem or heard of this happening? Thanks in advance for any help.

9006 is correct for the foglights, 9005 are for your drls/highs. the numbers are for the connector style and you shouldnt used a higher wattage bulb than recommended. did u replace both bulbs?

Yes, I did. I also noticed that the new bulbs watt is 65 where the original bulbs are 55. I not sure how a 10 watt difference could cause an issue.

You were correct about the bulbs. I edited my original post.

Wouldnt use anything higher then a 55watt with out upgrade the connector. You could run into a problem with the harness melting.Check the wire again.Follow it far as u can.

Have you swapped bulb sides? That way you can see if it's the bulb or wiring.

Might just be a bad bulb too. A while ago my buddy had the same kind of issue, just turned out to be a bad bulb, got a replacement bulb and it was good to go.

I did that this morning when I re-checked all of the wiring and I think it is the bulb.

I'm almost sure it's a bad bulb. I already talked to the shop where I bought them and he's ordering me a new set. Should be in by next week. I'll give another update as soon as the new ones come in.

Thanks everyone for your help.

i run 70watt Nokya 2500k 9006 bulbs and their on from the moment i turn on the car till the moment i turn off the car, day or night~ Have absolutely no problems with burned harness or melted wires. If you wanna mod you're car you're gonna have to weigh risk vs reward, its always a trade off.

Thanks. If I run into any more issues with these ones I'll try out those Nokya bulbs. And I'm starting to lean about the trade offs... Just put a F-Sport intake on and I'm trading that amazing sound for my gas mileage, haha!
