Default Help!! Car idles high

Ok. I have an 08 IS250 and I just changed spark plugs. While I had the throttle body off I decided to clean it. So I get it back together and now the car idles high and doesn't feel like it has the pickup that it had before. I've checked and double checked any loose connectors or hoses and all are on. Any suggestions?

Did you note the wire order for the spark plugs and put them back in the same order?

Dunno if you have to do that for our 2IS. Haven't done mine yet.

Yep! All the plug wires are on the plug they're supposed to be.

Try to reset your car by disconnect negative terminal, wait for 20 second, reconnect it) to see if your idles still high. Don't panic if it not fire on first try, it's normal

I tried that too and still no change. I'm at my wits end and was hoping some of the guru's on here could give me a hand. I really don't want to take it to the dealership tomorrow and hand it over to them. Any other advice is greatly appreciated!!

might be:

throttlebody carbon deposits

remove and reinstall spark plugs

airfilter

or

A vacuum leak at the intake manifold or vacuum hose can cause a high idle. On carbuerated vehicles the idle adjustment screw may be set to high. On fuel injected vehicles, the Idle Air Control(IAC) circuit or valve may be faulty. On newer vehicles you may be able to get a trouble code to help pinpoint the problem.

Ok, here is an update to my problem. After about a day and a half of drivng with the high idle, it has actually fixed itself. Not sure how, but it is back to normal. I did a search of this subject and read several posts and some of them said to just drive it and it will eventually go back to normal. So I did, and sure enough it did! So if you clean ur throttle body and after you put it all back together and it idles higher than normal, it will fix itself after driving for a couple days. Just be careful when driving because the car will want to surge at stop signs/lights due to the high idle RPM's.
