Default Smart Card Key

Just picked this up because my car only came with one key. It is awesome and I highly recommend it. It is the size of about 2 credit cards and works great. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

My dealership matched Sewell's club lexus price and programming was $60.

Can this be used just like the stock one? Say, leave it in your wallet and use everything like normal? Do you have a link to the product? Thanks

Yes, it works just like the FOB, but fits in your wallet like another credit card. Everything works the same as the FOB it just doesn't have hard buttons for trunk/alarm which never get used anyways.

How long does the battery last?
It must be thin and small.

Club Lexus price isn't too bad. I needed a second key so it was a no brainer. I had a hard time finding real info on it so I wanted to post that yes it works, it is very thin and would be a worthwhile mod.

I have two of these. They're great and the battery lasts usually 6-9 months. The only downside is my '06 has a double-sided key and the keycard can only support single-sided keys, so I'm SOL if my keycard battery dies (hence I have a spare battery on me).

So these are compatible with the 06? last time I checked, people mentioned they couldn't be used with an 06.

Funny. Unfortunately, even if you have an extra car battery at your disposal, you still need the mechanical key to unlock the door and pop the hood in order to install it.
