nice. i have one of these as well. one bit of caution. if your car battery ever dies and you swap it out, you will need to have your orginal key fob with you. there is a process you need to follow to pair the key fob with the security on the car. once this is done, you can continue to use the key card. i had this happen to me and i had my key card with me and could not start the car with the new battery.

Does anyone have the process to re-enable the smart card after battery change? I'm sure my battery will need to be replaced in 12-24 months since its the original from 2007 and still going strong.

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to work on your car, I'm glad we were able to program the card to your car. We will look into the items the you requested and get back to you soon.

Anyone interested email us @ cl@magnussenlexus.com

Default More Smart Card pictures, programming experience

I know people have posted numerous pictures of the smart card previously, but I just wanted to throw up a couple more.

I bought a CPO GS 350 a few weeks ago, bought the correct smart card from sewell.com and went back to the dealer to have it programmed - At first they tech came out and told me that they couldn't get it to program correctly, but I asked them to try once more with a new battery that I had left in the car (just in case) - and that was the problem.

Too bad sewell shipped it with a dead battery, but who knows how long it was on the shelf before shipping out - and good thing I thought to buy/bring a spare!

Only had it for a couple days, but I love the smart card - just wish my wallet were thinner...

I think it has to be same ic number and same year and if its a old key then they have to erase all key program to car and reprogram it in. Like the 08 key will not work with 06-07 IS.

Well my 13 lx key card have the same id & ic as 08 LS or even the brand new card sewell sell, but the thing is maybe my lexus dealership they never done that before? Therefor; they said it can't be done on my car since some cl member have the smart key card programed on their car with new or used card and work just fine.
