Proxity features works exactly like the fob remote. It has no buttons, so you cannot unlock, lock, pop trunk or sound alarm from afar. It fits in your waller though.
It still has a key cutout so you don't get trapped outside if the battery is dead.
Not more pricey than replacing your fob and key. I'm getting one. I only got one key fob with my car and last week in New Orleans I took out the key and gave the fob to the valet...long story short I almost lost the key. I thought if I have the card I could have given the valet that and not separate the key from the fob.
If you leave your car and hit the lock button on the handle
when you come back to your car do you hit the lock button to unlock the vehicle?
because if you can't, then whats the point? You cant get into your car unless you have a key and that makes it pointless if its called a smart card lol
unless the act of putting your hand around the door handle activates the smart card for you to unlock it...idk someone chime in lol.

Touching the door handle with the smartkey card in your possession unlocks the car, just as it does with the regular key fob.
