I bought my 2007 IS 350 back around 3month ago with around 56k miles. Took it in after finding out there were 3 recall parts on it back around 2 months ago. I had them do a car inspection and check the alignment. They only found two thing wrong it that it needed a new battery and the brakes weren't stock brakes and whoever owned it last did not replace the Shims instead they did not have any in the front two brakes. Well now i have some issues first if i hit the brakes two hard when im driving the wheels will shake causing the car to shake until i release the brake a little bit, another is when i was driving in the rain going over 40 mph the car seem to want to slide on it own, and the last is when i have the transmission set on auto (regular drive mode) the transmission seems to take extra time to shift when accelerating slowly. any help or suggestion is appreciated
Brakes issue does sound like rotors as pointed out above assuming you fixed the shims.
As far as the car sliding in the rain, have you checked you tires? How's the wear on them?
Transmission - do you have the car in PWR mode? Buttons are below the push start to the left. It will say PWR, ECT and SNW. If you have it in PWR mode, the car will rev higher into each gear before shifting.
Barring incorrect installation or defective from the factory parts- Rotors don't really warp. That's usually what brake shops that don't know any better tell customers.
For a description if what is actually happening (it's uneven pad transfer, usually from incorrect break-in or incorrect use), why it happens, and how to avoid it, see here:
as far as the transmissions the switch is set to normal not pwr or snow mode. tires are pretty much brand new very little ware on them. as far as brakes and shims the Lexus dealer up in Nashville replaced them so I don't think that's the problem. maybe the rigors is the problem, how do you check the rotors for problems ?
Thanks for the link and info. I just presumed it was defective factory parts.
