I need help guys... and yes before anyone rants about me not doing a search, I did but came up empty handed. Yesterday morning my IS250 would not start and it seemed like a dead battery. I was able to still roll down my windows on all four sides but the engine wouldn't start. After replacing the battery the car started fine. However, the power windows stopped working both from my control console and from the specified panel on each window. The funny part is the driver side and moon/sun roof still has power going to it. I checked the "child/safety" button on the driver side panel and tried it both on and off, still no luck. Can anyone shed some light on this issue for me?
When you IS wouldn't start, was it making a "click click click" noise when you tried to start it? Or was there no noise at all?
The first time I tried it did the clicking noise rapidly kinda like a starter problem, but after that all the interior lights went dim and the display screen said "check VSC". So I figured it was a bad battery and changed the battery which solved the stalled start but now the only power window that responds is the driver side. Even the individual controls on each sides aren't responding.
I'll check the fuse after work today to see if that may be the problem.
click click click is a battery problem. No sound at all is the alternator. You can drive about 40 minutes on a new battery without the use of an alternator. If the alternator doesn't work, the electrical stuff in the car will begin to fail.
