Lightbulb Pre-2011 DRL Ideas Please help/Clarify

So I Recently fixed my car from being hit the other week, and after fixing her I just been having that itch to put some extra mods on her. One of the things I would like to Do is to change up my DRLs. "As much as I want to buy some of those 2011 headlights, for me I feel that I would have to make everything 2011 style" I was also going to attempt making a JDM style foglight with the LED's "since I have a broken one to play around with, minus the HID/projector"pics when I start working on it also I have a 2010 GFM IS 250 and currently running PIAA ion Yellow high beams. Pic below....

So my questions are.......

1.What are you running in your pre 2011 headlight as a DRL? (pic, spec., etc.)

2."kind of a combo question" How are those LED 9005's? Whats a good reputable company that sells them? Also I know you have to run a Extra Add on to make the LED bulb work with the DRL's but I herd you loose your high beam and does the extra wire fit behind the moisture shield? and lastly any pic of them.

3.For my side project in trying to replicate the JDM style fog lights "minus the HID/Projector. How would I tap into the ignition wire or where do you think would be a good place to tap power from. "If not I was thinking of sourcing the DRL toggle switch from the JDM fog lights"

Just want to say thank you for all of your time and much Mahalo's

I've heard that too. Beginning to seem like there's not a completely solid kit for under $200.

I got my dealer to disable my DRL and switched out the stock city bulb with an LED bulb. I also added a LED strip on the front headlight which I basically use as my DRL.

Oh and dont let my crappy camera fool you, theyre not really that blue.

Aloha. I want to turn my fog lights into projectors and add some DRL LEDs in the fog light housing. I saw these fog lights below and wanted to make them instead of paying their hefty $$$ price.

V-LED 13 SMT LED parking lights with a custom LED strip alongside my projector retrofit foglights. For more info a video of the strobing/fading effect, go here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ing-video.html. I will soon be changing it up though...

Try searching. There are many, many threads on this. V-LED and iJDMToy are the two most popular (and now that I think about it, the only ones I know of). V-LED has a new design that requires no drilling into your moisture shield and iJDMToy is working on a solution too, but for now it requires some extra work as one of the posters above has linked to. You will lose your dedicated 9005 high beam, but if you have OEM HIDs you'll still have a de facto high beam from your bi-xenon D4S projector.

I would just run a seperate switch. You can use one of the switches pictured below which fit in the OEM blank spots. The one of the left is Toyota part #84160-04010.

Nice Ride. Do the cops ever stop you and ask you if you added HID to your fog lights and driving lights in NorCal? I don't really want to get pulled over.

Thanks! Despite an obnoxiously loud, illegal exhaust setup (thanks to my Invidia midpipe), illegal tints (30% all around) and no front plate, I've never had any problem with the cops (then again, I only drive my car 1-2 times a week). That being said, I think running 6000K lighting is relatively safe.

Here are some newer pic of my car which also show off the lighting, including the strip by itself:

Yup same here. Something about having to drill a hole for the VLED kit and not for the iJDMtoy one? Can anyone else share their input on this?

Yeah I think I might go with the IJDMtoy ones because of how everyone with the VLED's are having reliability issues. But as far as your high beams go, What happens when you turn on the high beams? does the 9005's just don't turn on? I have the HID/AFS headlamps so my low beams are bi-xenon.
