Default HID Fogs Conversion

Since I couldn't find anything in our Lighting section, I thought I'd post this up here to get your help. I am currently wanting to go 8000k for fog lights and found a pair on ebay. 1) Is 8k too much and should I settle for 6k? 2) does this: 8000K Blue 9006 Xenon HID Conversion Kit --Fog Light
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/230656069382 have everything I need to complete the conversion? I have the same question for HID DLR/Highbeams. Im planning to get these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/130527404737 Now its my first time so I am hesitant because its from ebay and I haven't the slightest clue if these are legit... Please help a fellow member!!! Much love CL!

That's the right LED DRL kit, but all the pics are from the ijdmtoy.com website. I don't know if that's their ebay seller name or what, but you can see the name in the watermark of the picture. Plus ijdmtoy.com has a few coupon codes for 15% off that same price FYI.

EDIT: all their links point to ijdmtoy.com

Also, some people say that these decoders are larger than the VLED kit and you have to drill holes in the moisture cover of the headlight, and mount the decoder outside. I have this kit at my house, but I won't know about the install till this weekend.

You can, but you still have to drill through the moisture shield.

Both kits look fine, but it's still eBay...

2lixx, scroll down the page of the attached link. I just installed these from iJDMTOY. I have the first set of their new decoders which fits in our small housings. The decoders are already attached to the harness. They are literally pnp. Goodluck!

That's just standard DRL mode. I love the bluish hue it gives off. Looks sick! Too bad my cam phone couldn't pick it up.

Sup bro. i just put in 8000k in my car last night. I thought i needed the converstion kit but all i needed to do was change the frickin bulb. the light was a bit blue when it took it for my first spin, but when i saw how much light it emits, i was impressed. its a bit blue and might take some time getting use to. and my FAV car(not a car) of all time is Range Rover Sports and it comes with 8000K headlight.
Secondly im also changing my fog lights and high/low beam DRL also. will post some pics later.

Tip: try not going 55W ballast, due to the fact it emits too much heat. some people have reported damage to their headlamps. also 35W ballast are more efficient. more heat basically means that the W are being wasted in form of heat. just like an old light bulb.

Also do you really want LED bulb as your High beam? i know LED's are bright, but i dont think those bulb will be able to generate as much light as regular high beam bulbs. you can try looking in PIAA Extreme White High Beam bulb. very bright, but again DRL lights run on less power therefore not giving you that Pure White Light. LED bulbs are more cosmetic than functionality.

Hope that helps.
Rest is your choice

Wow! that looks alot smaller. When did you order your kit? I haven't opened my box yet so we will see which ones I got. Did you have to ask for the smaller decoders? Looks awesome man!

Did you change your parking lights at the same time?

Those new decoders look awesome! I've heard rumors of some soon to be released LED DRL's that have the decoder built into the base of the bulb too, so it's like the decoder/module isn't even there. Not sure on an ETA.

DRL mode and high beam mode have the exact same output right? AFAIK, the point of the module/decoder is to achieve just that (constant power).

Exactly. LED DRL's are a tradeoff. Sacrifice your high beams to get nice colored DRLs. One thing to keep in mind though is that if you have OEM HIDs, they are bi-xenon, so you still have some high-beam functionality.
