Default AFS Headlights

So I have a headlight housing that has a TON of water in it - I'm going to try and dry it, reseal and hopefully save it.... if it doesn't work I'm going to have to buy a new headlight...

I currently have AFS headlights but really don't know what they do other than bop up and down when I start the car... if I buy a housing without AFS (much more common it seems) will I notice any sort of difference?

Thanks

You'll need to get the same headlights you have now. There are only 2 kinds of headlight for 06-10: with or without HID. All HID headlights have AFS. If you buy a headlight without AFS, it will be a Halogen headlight. (Unless it's a 2011 HID headlight, but then it won't look the same as your other one).

Ahhh, I wasn't aware all HID were AFS... then like you said, I have no choice.

I'm hoping a "deer" takes out the headlight and I can get some 2011 ones on insurance

Yeah you'll need the same headlights you have right now. You may not have noticed it, but AFS makes the light shift slightly when you turn. Next time its dark outside and you take a turn, look at the light, it will turn with the car and then when the wheel is straight again, it will quickly "snap" back. You'll usually notice it when your coming out of a turn because you'll see the light move back.

Yeah that's something I didn't mention, what you notice when you turn the car/headlights on is the auto-leveling system, it actually is separate from the AFS. 2011's still have auto-leveling. AFS turns the lights while you turn the vehicle, auto-leveling keeps them out of oncoming traffic's eyes.

LOL that cause your not actually turning. You have to be in motion and taking turns for it to work.
