Default 07 IS250 Navi issue..Please help!!!

I am new to this site. Please help!!!! I own a '07 IS250 and are currently dealing with a navigation issue. All of a sudden, the touch screen on my navigation doesn't work. I can get to climate, audio, etc but can't change the setting on any of them because of the screen. I can't even use the voice command to get out of the main screen because I can't press "I agree" button on the main page. The dealer quoted me $6,400 for a replacement. I don't have warranted so please offer alternative answers. Thanks for your help.

I think replacement is your only option but some other threads suggest disconnecting battery and resetting the system. Not sure it will help. Do a search as it is a common problem.

$6,400 sounds like robbery though. I think others have been quoted around $2K...

Thanks for the response. I just got another quote from a different dealer for $2000+$175labor for replacement under the "exchange program". Obviously this is a common problem if they came up with an "exchange program". -_-

It's a shame nobody sells parts. You can buy a touch screen digitizer (the part of the nav system that is failing) for an iPhone for around $10 on eBay.

Can you give me details? Are you talking about Flyaudio for IS250? If so, I am told that it's discontinued.

Try calling Lexus Corporate. It seems to be a fairly common issue with the navigation, i've seen a few threads with the same issue. And apparently its near impossible to find just the screen/digitizer alone, so replacing the whole nav is usually what your left with. I would call Lexus Corporate, voice your disatisfaction and that it is a problem others are experiencing too and see what they will do for you. Most of the time, they will offer something out of good will, it may not be a full reimbursment for the cost of replacing the nav, but even a partial reimbursement is better than nothing.

As a matter of fact, I am waiting to hear back from them. They said that they will evaluate this problem and get back to me within 5 business days. I also found a place in Cali (Hi-Tech Electronic Services) that may be able to fix this issue. They said that there are 2 common problems for this and they are able to fix one of them. They can diagnose the problem at no charge, but I would have to pay shipping. I will wait for Lexus Corp to call me back first. Thanks.
