Default Xenon Headlight problem

Hi all,
I have a Lexus IS220 with xenon.
I am experiencing a problem with the left xenon headlight. When I start the engine, the both headlights are turning on, but after one minute ( every time one minute ) the left one it's turning off. If I close the lights and turn them on again, the left headlight it's turning on and it remain so.

So, every time when want to go somewhere, I need to close the lights after one minute and turn again to work.
I think, but not sure, that before having the 2009-2010 nav update I didn't have that problem. It's possible to be from the software? Do I need to change the xenon ?

Thank you !

Could be the bulb is dying. First swap left with right and see if what happends. If that same bulb moved over is still turning off, then it is the bulb. If is the same side that is going off, then it would be the ballast.

Sounds like the same issue I am having , I am taking it to the dealer soon they told me most likely its the ballist becuase I was having the issue before the new bulb which was only installed a few days ago and its the same side.

Thanks all for answering.
I don't have waranty, it's since 2008 january. I took it to the dealer and without checking said that it's the computer. It's weird, and I tend to believe that is the ballast.
Another thing weird, it is happening since I have updated the nav software. When I had 2008-2009, I had no problems (genuine software) Now I have 2009-2010 , not genuine. May be this an issue?

Oh oh, then that means it is the ECU if confirmed. If it was that, that may cost you. Had this problem happen to my fathers 03 GS300, which caused one of his HID lights not to turn on at all - had it replaced, however do not remember how much it was.

Hi All. I have news
Unfortunatelly, it still doesn't work. I've noticed that if the drivers door is open, and the engine and lights are ON, the left bulb doesn't turn off. If I close the door, after 1 minute, it turning off.
Again: I start the engine, I start the lights, and i don't wait to turn itself off. I turn the lights off after 30 seconds, and turning on again. After one minute, it doesn't turn off itself...

The services can't explain. Weird, isn't it?

Most dealers will call the ballast a "computer" FYI

Had the exact problem with my 2008 Avalon Touring driver side. My mechanic switched the bulb from Driver to passenger and passenger side is now flickering. Ordered two Philips D4R from Amazon.com last week at $55 each should arrive this week.
