Sewell Steering Wheel
Anyone know if this the steering wheel (http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2007/4560.html) will match the wood in a 2007 IS350?
If so, is $599 a good price?

I was just curious bc this is the birds eye pattern and I know the new "black wood" in the newer models is called birds eye and I know that pattern does not match. So, while im sure the color matches, I am concerned about the pattern of the wood.

Have you seen the video of how the Lexus builders do the wood? They make a huge effort to match the pattern. I dont think the pattern of the wheel will be match like they do with the interior. I dont think Lexus is the one who made that steering wheel.

I don't think the grain perfectly matching would be that big of an issue since it's not right next to the other cherry wood in your car. If you were trying to match your shifter plate cover to the ashtray lid, ya it would matter, but with a steering wheel as long as the grain is similar and the color is the same, it'll flow well.

@Istrip50- I have a 2008 and have the "Rose wood or Cherry wood" color trim. It's actually called "California Walnut"
I purchased and installed (with the help of CL members) a Flat bottom "rose wood" top steering wheel from LEXTUNERS. It matches perfectly and very happy with it. I paided approximately $580.00 shipped using PROMO CODE "HOL10" check it their website.

Posted these before they were released to retailers. I personally tested every type of wheel thats being sold. Most of the pictures there are from local installs. Like i said the wood matches 99%

Well, these postings came out just a bit sooner than we would have liked. Here's the promotion that was to start in February but we went ahead and pulled the trigger - Sewell Lexus, sewellparts.com: 2IS Steering Wheels - Use SW011 for $150 Off .
Below is an image of the Bird's Eye Maple wood steering wheel equipped with the black steering wheel controls. Specifically, it's referred to as "Auburn Bird's Eye Maple" for the 2006-2008 IS models. Click on the image to view a larger picture.
The wood grain is dark. See how the two images compare for either the color tone of the wood as well as the wood grain.

- The luxurious and sporty IS 250 interior features standard metallic trim and black fabric-trimmed seats. As an available option, perforated leather-trimmed seating is offered in Cashmere, Sterling or Black, and Auburn Bird’s-eye Maple wood trims the center console, shifter surround, power window switch panels on all four doors and the panels concealing the front cupholders and ashtray. To ensure seamless matching of wood grains, each piece of wood is digitally coded following supplier processing. In addition, each genuine wood piece is laminated to aluminum backing (replacing the previously used fiber-reinforced plastic) for enhanced stability.
