Default Noob trying first mod

Im a proud new female owner of a 2010 black on black IS250AWD.
I recently purchased a set of illuminated scuff plates from Sewell (this will be my first mod). I've done searches on CL to figure how to wire them up. The thread say to cut the grey wire from the sill and connect to a new wire running to the door switch wire. The two wires from my set of sills are red and brown. So im really confused now, I cant find a grey wire. Am i missing something here?
Thanks

Yeah I'll confirm as well that there should be a connector in there in all 2007+ IS models which should make the plates plug and play. Unfortunately no one has confirmed if this is true outside of the US though the vehicles should be near identical considering it came out of the same plant.

from my understanding 07-09 models were prewired for it and 2010 and up aren't.

Hope that kind of helps.

Refer to this thread for install questions. 2010 model is not plug and play.

The car is generally the same. The only noticable changes is the instrument cluster and the NAV/Climate display is that it is in the metric system (ie. Kilometers is on the outside, MPH inside, Temperature display is in Celcius and L/100KM) for the Canadian cars. If was also told there isn't a service light that goes off if it's time for service like the US cars have.

I wish I could have my US car modified to use Canadian displays (I prefer the Canadian way!!) but Lexus saids it cannot be done. Seems like a simple plug and play swap with the Canadian part unless there are other things involved which I am not aware about.

i'll assume you live in vancouver.

lee's electronics should have them.

The Source should have them too but they're overpriced. RP electronics has them for sure but you have to buy a bag of 100 for them.

If Lee's don't have them, you could also try Radio Shack or have a look at Ebay. If there i no luck, I maybe able to get some.
