2011 Headlights (merged threads)
Hi Darrel,
A few questions:
1. If your loaner had no HID (and therefore no AFS), does that mean you have yet to test the 2011 lights on a car equipped with AFS? We need to know if 'ignoring' AFS causes the screen between the speedo and tach to flash continuous warnings.
2. Did you ever get the rapidly flashing turn signal issue solved?
I'm eager to buy the 2011 headlamps but want to make sure everything works first, obviously.

Might there be anything definitive proving Japan may have the AFS option?

Confirmed fitment and operation to a 2006 IS250. Same configuration as we used on the 2009 and 2010 we tested (wahoo). We also will need to add a different flasher to the kit to keep the blinker at the normal speed as the previous model year headlamps had 2 (two) turn signal bulbs in the headlamps whereas the 2011 lamp has just 1 (one) turn signal bulb. The reisistance wasn't enough thus the blinker was a bit faster than we would have liked.

A new revised flasher from the 2011 model did the trick. It was also fairly easy to replace, just 2 screws to remove the lower kick panel, squeeze down to the floor board and look up 6-8 inches by the brake pedal arm and you will see a small brown box (1x1x1 square) clipped to a metal arm. Un-clip it, unplug it then plug in the new one and that's all there is to it.
I say this in relief as I was expecting the flasher to be behind the instrument cluster. Fortunately for us all it wasn't.
