Default DRLs help please

Sorry but i have tried the search and get all kinds of answers, from leds, resistors, to hids.

All i wana know is if i order a set of PIAA or other high beam bulb that run the bright white/blue-ish color and just do a plug and play, will the color output still look white/blui-ish at 50% power on DRL mode?

I would rather stick with non-HID bulbs and no LEDs, if I can still get a white look coming out of the DRLs on regulary aftermarket high beam bulbs.

Thanks again. I really wana change my DRLs.!!!

I had a hard time with this too... Ive looked on multiple threads and everyone seems to say that halogen bulbs dont do the job. I remember someone said that the piaa bulbs dont even change the yellow. I am in a position where i cannot lose my highbeams (dad wont let me lol) so i tried the bluest bulb i could find. Lumanics "pure blue" logically it should be blue...but its being put on today and ill have my car by friday ill come back and tell you if it works

LOL! i just went yellower. (not a word) but you know. I replaced the stock with hyper yellow halogens so it looks different during the day, and when i need the highbeams, i get the color that really tears through the road. I would think a better bulb would do ya well, and maybe a bi-xenon hid kit. Don't bother with LEDs, i learned that the hard way. No light output whatsoever. They are only good for if u want to be seen and not to see. Gud lucks to ya!

i myself haven't changed my drl's yet either, but from researching this forum extensively it seems that the consensus is that any white/blue halogen bulb will still be yellowish in color in drl mode (30%) but on full high beam it will be white or blue.

no matter what color you change your drl/highbeams, they will be yellow because its running at 30% power. the only way to get the blue color is to run at 100% power, either ask your dealer to turn them off or get some leds and the module for it and than it will be blue.

^ What he said. Several people have tried white/bluer 9005 bulbs (including me with a Silverstar Ultra) and it still looks yellow because of the reduced power level. You have several options:

1. Get over it
2. Install LED DRLs and lose your high beams altogether (they will still light up, but they won't light up the road like regular high beams)
3. Have the dealer disable your DRLs and just have no light on during the day
4. Option 3 but have a really bright parking light bulb to serve as a faint parking light
5. Option 3 and retrofit HIDs in there to serve as high beams
6. Custom DRLs like this: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ing-video.html
