Post Has anyone had this problem before

Hey there everyone how are you all doing? Well my girlfriend and I recently purchase a used 2009 Lexus IS250 and we really love the car! But a few days ago my car starting acting up. The push start does not work anymore nor does it give power to my radio or gagues. We really dont know what going on and we took it to Lexus dealership and they cant figure out what going on with the car. The car is just a few weeks old and we really dont know what to do. Do you guys have any helpful suggestion that would help me out? It would be much appreciated thank you =)

Is you battery dead?

How did you get it to the dealership without turning the car on?

Lexus roadside has free (100 mile or something) towing service for 4 years. Btw was the used car a certified one?

did you do any research on the car before you bought it? Like a carfax check and also have a lexus dealer run the vin# to see if any service records come up in the data base? All those small independent dealers get there cars from auctions. As you can imagine alot of the auction cars are ****. Lexus themselves has dibs on there cars when they come off lease, etc. If for whatever reason they dont want the car to resell they send it off to the auction.

if the car has a salvage title, then I believe you lose your warranty.

yeah i know im pretty much screwed with the car =(. Wasnt there at the time of the purchase but my question is, Is there a way to fix the car i think its an electrical problem and not sure where to start. I had it towed to lexus. They couldnt find a thing wrong with it. They told me that they would do a full diagnostics for like 700 but i dont want to spend that type of money on that yet unless there is no option left. So do you guys have any suggestion on where i should start looking first?

its a 2009, it should have warranty left no matter where you bought it from, unless it had some kinda title. Is it a salvage vehicle? If its clean title then dont worry about the diagnoistic fee, because it wont be charge if you decide to get it fix at the dealership, and if its a clean title, then warranty will cover the repair because you can replicate the problem.

you never told us what the title is, but if it is salvage, i would suggest you take it to an indy shop, they'll charge you much less

how many miles do you have on the 09? why would they even charge diagnostic fee if it's under warranty?

Does it have a clean title? Any dealership would know a 09 would be under warranty and wouldn't think twice about charging a fee like that.

did you check the fuses?

think of this scenario. since you bought it from a little dealership, they leave the car on the lot for a while and battery dies. so they boost it with a powerpack but don't ground it properly. that can blow a few fuses.
