At first I thought my light bulb was burned and taking this opportunity to upgrade to 6000k. I got my light bulb today, replace it but my light doesn't come on.. I check all fuses and all fuses is good. IS this mean my ballest is bad?... Also I took the burn oem light bulb and replace with the side that was working and it work.
I have tested two brand new bulb and I know they work b/c I tested on the working side.. I also tested the burned bulb which I thought it was burn but it work after all. Where can I get oem ballest or do you recommend after market ballest? I need some things that is plug and play with out any wire cutting.
This happened to me once with my Philips 6K kit. The culprit wasn't the ballast nor the hid bulb but a bad relay. On my Philip kit the relay is blocky black square about 1 sq. in. To test it, I substituted the bad relay with the one from the right headlight and it worked. Ordered two relays from digi-key for about $6. each.
Samething happened to me just recently. I thought it was just the bulb so I took it to the Dealership to find out that it is not. The dealer claimed I had aftermarket wires (mine was Stock) and said that was the cause of it. So I thought it may have been the wires so I purchased a new set to find out, it wasn't. While the assembly was off I decided to check the Ballast, and that was the cause. Don't know how but both the ballast had water in them which blew them out.
put your stock bulbs back on, take it to the dealership they should replace it for free. same thing happened to me due to condensation. Lexus gave me a new headlight and new bulb

If it is a ballast issue, try ebay to find a cheap one. Those koito d4s ballasts used to be found for 50 dollars. That is, if you are using stock HID bulbs (D4S) and not aftermarket H11s (as in the case of those with the halogen equipped models)
