Why risk a punch in the face or the cost of replacing an airbag over 5 extra minutes tops?

I don't think there is..
I added this because this was not standard in the x50's

so I think that sewell website should take off the steering damper off from the IS-F catalogs

Just got done installing mine today.... fairly straight forward took about 20 min. and yes I disconnected the neg. on battery.... well worth the $30...I`m on stock 18`s with f-sport springs and Hotchkis sways and there is a definite decrease in vibration.

The side covers are there... Use a flashlight and you will be able to locate them.

Just in case, here's the updated weight specifics of the various dampers from the original posting:

12080 - IS Convertible (.510 lbs or 231 grams)
53020 - IS Sedan (.510 lbs or 231 grams)
52020 - GS models (.560 lbs or 254 grams)

That is what happens when you disconnect the battery. You have to go to each door's window and roll them all the way down and all the way up (from that door) before the drivers door can control them again.
The exact write up on how to do this is in the owners manual.
Also check the sun roofs operation. Sometimes it need to be reset also. (also in the manual)

I did not have to do this with mine. I have a 2010 model though.

This sounds like a nice mod. After driving my wife's RSX, the steering wheel on my IS feels very loose. I like mine tight.

I'll give it a try... hopefully I don't break anything.
