I get all confused with those beam names.

When I switch on the "daytime running lights", I can switch on the foglights.

Oh wait, you guys have this too without modifications? because I remember someone was actually jealous LOL.

^ Our foglights won't turn on with just the DRLs. Has to be lowbeams.

Which harness should this be on? I don't see any particularly evident white w/ black dots.

Also, anyone know if the DRL signal passes through any of the harnesses in this junction box?

Thanks!

^I didn't tap any white wire with black dots.

Just follow the DIY on the first post - its the white wire on the middle connector.

So, i've taken a slightly different approach than others on this.

So far, I have kept my DRL/high beams in tact (eg, have not had lexus disable DRL);
I have it set so my fogs come ON with ignition (not controllable, no fog switch/stalk use);
When parking or headlights are on, fogs use the regular fog switch/stalk for control.
NO switch/wiring passed through from engine bay to cabin.

Video is broken into two sections - first section I start the car with the headlights ON, second section I start the car with the headlights OFF. I should have done it the other way around.

Still testing to make sure everything is operating as expected, no battery drain/electrical gremlins, etc. Still looking for a source for the DRL trigger in one of the harnesses, though.

i figured out how to use the fog lights whenever i want, even if the ignition is off and car is off, using the oem rotary fog switch, you will have to cut the wires from fog lights and build a relay connected to the rotary fog switch and BAM! its works

Right, but you are talking about disassembly of the steering stalk, no?

you do not need to dis assemble the headlight stalk, just remove the cowl cover around the steering colum and find the wire that goes to the fog switch, the wire can easily be found without taking anything other than the colum cover off, at that point u just need to tap onto the wire and correctly wire the relay directly to the fog lights wires. i made sure to cut away the wires from the car side and computer sides, so nothing backfeeds from relay to any modules in car. and if i want to restore the wiring back to factory then its only 3 wires and done.

Open up fuse box under the hood on the drivers side. Unclip that little box with the fuses on it and slide it up (I've already done so in the first pic). You'll see 3 connectors with wires. You'll tap into the one at the bottom of the picture.

Here's a close-up of the wires to tap together. Solid light green to solid green (tapped together). You're done. Close everything back up.

And here's what you get!

NOTICE!

The fog lights will ONLY turn off when you turn all lights to off position on the stalk. At this point, the led strips will still stay lit. In other words, anytime you have the lights on, the fogs will be on. Although, you can now turn the brights on while keeping the fogs on.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After doing this, I noticed that the fogs only stay on a few minutes after starting the car and then all the controls resort back to normal. Happens the same way every time to turn the car on and off. it only works for a few minutes, then goes back to normal operating mode. Did I do something wrong?

Can someone explain how to use the T-Taps to tap the two wires and how to connect those T-Taps to the rocker switch? Sorry I'm a noob when it comes to electronics and I want to make sure I know how to do every step properly. Thanks!
