the DRLs would have to be on anyways since they come on as soon as the parking brake is released... even if the fog switch worked in any of the three modes, you would have no choice to have the DRLs on unless u pulled them out

So, after you did this mod, you can't control your fogs to be on/off anymore?
they will stay on whenever you start up the car?

Yes.

There has to be a way to do this mod like the 300.

Wish I had more time on my hands

if u read what i did somewhere between the third and fifth page i believe, i could turn my fogs off by turning the light switch to OFF. apart from that, the fogs were always on.

and for those who are worried about fuses, i replaced the 10 with a 15, and i never had problems. i recently reversed the mod as i was trading the car in to the dealer and the wires were all fine. no burning. so for a simple way to do stand alone fogs with no extra switches go read my DIY

I just did this mod...what i did is i tapped the green wire so my factory fog switch still works....and then i ran the wire i tapped to a switch i put inside my car...on the switch one end was a 12v power line i have ran in the car and i connected the tapped green wire to it....now...wen i flip the switch my fogs will be on...so i can drive with my yellow fogs my yellow high beams and hids on all at once lmao also just my DRL n my fogs...its great

i couldnt find the white wire but i tested the green wire with a volt meter to make sure before i did the mod....

Can someone explain this better? I want to run a switch to be able to turn on/off my fogs. From this it sounds like he tapped into the same wire twice?

No problems whatsoever.

BTW, here's my new switch...

Did you buy just the switch? or did you buy the switch and harness? Is there a thread that shows you how to install the button?

I would like to know that too, did you also have to buy a harness for this part #?
