Default Wind whistling

I just picked up a used IS350 last week, and I've noticed that there seems to be a bit of wind whistling coming from the passenger side door. I've done a search, and I've found the fix for the ES350, but it doesn't seem like you can remove the seal as easily on the IS350, does anyone have any experience with this problem and how to fix it? I've also tried that Shin-Etsu grease from Honda as I used to have a leaking problem in my MR2 turbo.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide

Not sure if this will help, but I also have a IS350 that had a wind whistle at higher speeds. The noise I had constantly changed pitch. On both sides of the windshield is trim piece, turns out the passenger side trim piece had some broken clips and was not sitting flush between the windshield and the pillar. Dealer was nice enough to replace and noise went away. The piece I'm reffering to is part number # 75551 / 75552 at this link: http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/***...l=208&year=167

thanks for that info - I took a look and it seems that the clips are indeed broken. I wonder if the dealer as nice to me?

It's on the outside at the base of the windshield. You'll be able to see if it's loose by comparing it to the other side.

Forgot to mention that the way you can test if this is the cause of the noise is to take 2-3 foot long piece masking tape and put it over the piece with the broken clips running its entire length. Make sure that you cover the entire trim piece and have about an inch or so of the masking tape overlapping the windshield the entire way so the air cant get in-between the window and the trim piece. Then go for a drive and if the noise is gone replace the trim piece with new clips. This is how the dealer determined the problem in my case.

has anyone tried to replace this on your own? I live far enough that the prices would be worth it for me to buy rather than bring it to my nearest dealer for warranty.

from what I've been reading, the clips that holds the molding could've been broken when it was installed.....I am getting tired of going to dealership at every single issues with this car.

ajmbm: I had the same issue with my car. They had to replace the actual sunroof and the tracking to fix that problem.

Update: Went to the dealership and the tech actually drove my car and heard the wind whistle. He claimed that it was the side mirrrors causing turbulence. I insisted that I've never heard it until now, and he just said that I never realized the noise was there. The service was horrible!! This will be my first and last Toyota/Lexus product that I'll ever buy.
