Hi guys.
New member. I bought my IS350 today. It is a 2007 with 23k miles.
Someone rear ended my 350whp MR2 with $15k in the engine. Decided to have a change of pace and chose the IS350. The IS350 is as fast as my MR2 was on its old turbo back when it was around 240-250whp, but also comes with the extra practicality that I need at this stage in life. Funny thing is, considering I put a total of $25k in the MR2 (purchase price, maintenance, upgrades) in 3 years, the IS is actually going to be cheaper
I have been lurking a while and find it funny about people complaining about the lack of aftermarket to make a really high performance car. Actually, that was a selling point for me. I wanted to choose a car that would not allow me to dump a ton of money in to. I am not really a body/wheels kind of guy. I just go for performance - and now, comfort, reliability and financial sensibility.
Anyway, pics!:

Allen, a north east suburb of Dallas. But, I grew up in Austin and will be in Austin for Christmas.
Won't be doing much other than babying it! I made sure to get one with low miles so I can make it last a long time.
Honestly, probably just a joez intake and good traction tires like Dunlop Z1s. They really gripped well on the MR2 with virtually no tire spin even at 300 lbs of torque. Should fix the spinning I get with traction control turned off. Less spin = more go.
Sweet. Glad I am not alone. Seems like a lot of MR2 and Supra (especially Supra) guys also like ISs.

Welcome, sucks about the MR2, I've been looking at getting a 94' lately. People want stupid $$ for them. I never knew how high priced those little cars are. Post often and let the modding begin.
On Friday, I pointed them towards mr2oc.com to look at classifieds.
I checked it for comparable cars and could find none that had even 90% the same modifications. I found some with comparable miles, and some with one major engine component the same. Usually a turbo like a TD06 or T67 which are comparable to my 3071. Or someone with a built engine, but just a stock CT26 or a CT20B. Does not seem to be any recently listed cars with a built engine + high end turbo + fully setup/tuned fuel system.
They originally offered $3800

car is worth at least 10k.....tell em to shove that offer where the sun don't shine.
My mr2 is like a hot stripper. I keep throwing money at her hoping she will give me the ride of my life.

I told them that is what is in my car. So they either need to charge me with insurance fraud or send a mechanic to my house to verify what the MR2 has. They finally sent one on Thursday and we went through everything with a fine tooth comb. I was impressed. He even noticed my rich stain on my rear bumper and asked if it was the tune. Fortunately, I had the faulty rubber inlet to my turbo that I just replaced. The old cracked one was on the floor next to my car! Pointed out the vacuum leak and that I couldn't find it for a long time because I was using a compressor to identify it by pressurizing the turbo and beyond, but this was in front of the turbo

He seemed annoyed the whole time... like he was frustrated that everything was checking out. Maybe he thought he was going to bust someone.
funny, I was happy that there isnt alot of aftermarket for the IS350 too. I've had 5 evos, 1 with just over 600whp. I needed a nice practical reliable somewhat quick car that I COULDNT practically dump 20k into. I mean yea, I could ruin it and turbocharge/supercharge it, but why? Its not a race car, not an F and never will be. I'll spend the 2k on KW V3's and get some wheels, maybe an intake, some light mods, prob a lil system. And then I'm DONE
