Ja, I know the thread is for the IS but no one is active on the CT forum so I am hoping someone would be able to help. The clip replacement parts are the same apparently, I just need to figure out how to take the metal ones off so I can try to put on the plastic ones that I now have.

If they are the same replacement parts then maybe they are removed the same way. I removed mine by pulling on them with some tweezers. They were on tight. Took me a lot of force to pull them out. But I got them out.

I tried pulling them like him but they are secured in some other fashion. Here is a close up pic of the clips on my CT:

I tried pulling with pliers as well and they are not budging. Maybe that round thing in the middle there is securing it on? I dont see any way to pop it up though.

I have a weird suspicion that your clips are fixed in place. Perhaps they are supposed to be reusable. its just weird you cant pull them out.

This diagram should imply that they are replaceable: https://www.lexussouthatlantaparts.c...modelYear=2015

Rivets: 90269-04048
Clips: 75545-58020

But, the design with the rivets almost makes me believe that they shouldn't be replaced unless they absolutely need to be. The picture of the rivet looks like it should just be able to be popped out, but honestly, I really wouldn't. I'm assuming you bought the moulding already and it's not sitting right? Honestly, it wouldn't hurt to ask in the CT forum even though there's no active thread there, I imagine someone there has attempted this.

I have a thread over on the CT side but it's getting no traction or responses, searching the internet no one has posted about this, filmed it, or made a guide. I might just very well be the first human to ever attempt this.

So, they are rivets. Does this mean I need a rivet remover of some kind? I tried to pull them out with a small screw driver and some pliers but all I ended up doing was damaging it..

So that didn't work. I will try maybe just squeezing them back together? What if I put in some kind of plastic glue and just tried to superglue the moulding back onto the car?

The CT uses metal clips, that you have determined for yourself. Part number for the clips is 75545-58020, the rivets are 90269-04048. Unlike the IS where the rivets are installed first and the plastic clip snaps onto them, for the CT the clips are actually riveted in place. In order to replace them a 4mm (5/32”) drill bit needs to be used to drill to a depth of 5mm. Be careful not to drill further or you may damage the a-pillar.

This is is typically done with the glass removed, I’m not sure how easy it is to do with the glass in place.

Woah. This sounds a little out of my league, I don't want to start drilling into my car at an angle or get the glass removed in order to replace a piece of moulding.

So am I out of options on this? Squeeze it together and add some superglue or just live without it?

As for living without it, will anything bad eventually happen to the car if it never goes back on or will it just continue to look bad?

Well in case anyone ever this thread in the future, nothing would make it stay on so I glued it back on with this stuff and for now it appears to be holding. Need to try it on the highway but local roads its keeping in place. The CT clips are not removable or replaceable by normal methods so this is what I had to do.

FYI I had my windshield replaced through my car insurance, they replaced both moldings and clips.
