Anybody turn VDIM/trac off while driving?
Hey guys, just wondering does anybody have a good reason to turn vdim/trac off?
That is, does anybody ever find the vdim/trac "intrusive" enough to warrant turning it off?
Since I just recently got my vehicle and it's my first RWD, I'm afraid to turn it off haha.
To be perfectly honest, regardless of what the answers are in this topic I still won't turn it off, but I was just curious if anyone had any arguments for vdim/trac being overly intrusive during their daily drive.
As for me I am REALLY thankful for the vdim/trac, I've definitely seen it kick in a few times on curves while it was raining. Hypothetically if I ever wanted to turn it off, I'd only consider turning it off on a very dry day.

I've turned mine off coming out of a rock concert one night at midnight. I went in with light snow drift... came out and there was a good 4" of snow on the ground. As soon as I pulled out I hit the trac off button and proceed to slide sideways down the empty main street with a full car scaring the ***** out of everyone in the car hahaha
i have an 06 so i have to do the pedal dance if i want to turn it off.
i find it dangerous at times.
example: when im in a intersection with no stop light or pulling out of a driveway onto oncoming traffic... when i step on the pedal 3/4 of the way, the vsc comes on and cuts power to prevent wheel spin... only one problem, im in the middle of the fking intersection with the car not moving for a good 3secs.

However, there are times where it will engage when not needed, but knowing this as the driver, I can just as well avoid those situations (which are pretty predictable, IMO). There are also instances where I know exactly what I'm doing in a slide situation (again, having fun), but the car cuts power prematurely, which is a bit upsetting.
I've learned to live with it.
