bluetooth issue
Just picked up my new IS 250 from the dealer today. It's fantastic except neither I nor the salesman could get my Palm Centro connected to bluetooth. I thought it might just be my phone, but when I tried another phone I had the same issue. The car just says its unable to connect after trying for about a minute.
Any suggestions?

Trust me, it's just as hard to get the garage door opener buttons to work too!

i have the same phone mine connects it just takes awhile i havve to keep reset the car to default and then trying it again and eventually it will coneect on its own if it starts doing that to me ill start dial the *2 number for sprint pal centro which is a customer service number and it connects i dont know why but once it connects i dont have any problems it works every time on its own.
but just keep entering it in and it will eventually connect
Hope that helps
you may have to try 20 times to get it to work

I quit trying to get bluetooth working
Sad part is that it worked on the first try on an 08 at the dealer when I was testing out cars. Dealer sent over their tech guys as well and they couldn't get it.

I got my Tmobile wing, 2 iPhones and 2 sidekicks to connect to the car with no problems. Just have your phone on discoverable, add it when it finds it and then just put the passcode in, 1111 i think.

the homelink thing was a pain in the *** for me because the stupid *** instructions dont work. it says to hold the remote like 3 inches away but it didnt work until i finally got so pissed off i just shoved it right next to the mirror so it was touching. then it worked. maybe try putting your phone really close to the navigation or wherever the bluetooth thing is and try it.

Not all Bluetooth phones will connect. Go to Lexus.com and search on Bluetooth. There should be a page that you can enter the phone model and carrier and find whether it is compatible. I remember having a problem with a Palm that was NOT compatible. Not Lexus' problem, it's the phone. If that is the case, there is nothing you can do.

I have avoided getting a new phone because I am afraid I am going to have drama. I still have an old school razor. I have blue tooth so the phone really just sits in my bag all of the time. I rarely hold the phone in my hand when talking

Actually, even though the car told me it was not connected, turns out my phone did connect. I just eventually tried dialing a number and it worked all of a sudden. Strange, but at least its working now.

With my Treo 680, I had to tell the Treo to connect after pairing and even though the nav said the pairing failed, it connected successfully. Palm software is pretty buggy. I was happy to say goodbye to my Treo. It met an untimely death when it mysteriously smashed into my desk after rebooting while on a call for the n^nth time.
