Default 2010 RX350 loaner

hi, dropped off my is350 at the dealer today and got a new rx350 as a loaner. Why doesn't it have a button on the handle to lock the car after you get out? It has a key fob, and a start button, but after i leave it i have to take the fob out of the pocket and press the lock key or on the door? I read a lot of manuals as well as personalization apps and can only find unlock function which works great, just like in my IS you put the hand behind the handle and it unlocks it, but i think it's missing a lock button i have on my IS. The only reason i'm asking is because i'm planning on getting one for my wife and that's kinda a deal breaker for me.

thanks for the input

Maybe try the RX section of the forums? Could it be something like BMW where there's no button, but just a sensor on the handle?

Feirax, i didn't want to try the rx forum since it's new, not everyone has input, but here i know a lot of experienced people. Thought someone who has IS has considered a purchase of an RX for a family that's why.

First off, lucky guy on the loaner. Hopefully, I'll get the same when I bring in my IS. With my luck, I'll probably get a Chevy Impala like someone post around here. As for the lock button, you really should drop the 3rd Gen RX guys a question. They really seems to know their car well - After all they do have a few months of first hand on experience.
The weird thing about 'deal breaker' for you is that you may not win out if she likes it enough

yes i thought of that too, because all she talks about is the RX. It's just that as usual i "a man" think that i can control that (naive)

then again, i posted here since i thought that people like who own an IS and who are just as me used to getting out of the car and pressing a button on the door handle will be surprised just as me and might know more, i will try to post in the RX forum also then....

I believe there is a touch sensitive section on the top part of the door handle, I believe you can identify this portion because it has little ribs. Hope that helps.

I'm sure lock button is still there. BTW does it come with HUD display? I think it looks really cool.

Lucasb is right there is an indentation in fron of the handle, you touch it and it locks, sweeet. I learned something new today thank you.

How do you like the new NAV / System control method with the hand as opposed to the touch screen? Does it work well or dies it take lots of effort to simply change the temp, station, and so on?

Default 09 rx

I got a 09 RX for a loaner and took it 220 miles to dallas and back. I hate that thing.. look at the arm rest a little thing sticking out. it does have pickup though still has small storage space I say
