Soooooo very long story short I just got pulled over for going through a red light. I honestly didn't do it, the light was green and was yellow when I was under it and I got the cop to admit it was yellow when I was under but he said go fight it in court he already wrote it. (A$$ HOLE)

Anyone know what the fine amount is for that violation?

No he said its up for the courts to decide. He was a complete **** asking me who's car was it and what I did for a living. When he first came to my window and I asked what the problem was he told me to give him his license and to sit their and shut up!

 

that sucks, sorry to hear. were you going fast through the yellow? maybe the cop thought you were trying to beat the red perhaps?

 

Nope not that either, I had my car set on cruise control as i usually do I had it set on 35mph he actually told me i was doing 34mph. Its prob cause im young and wasnt in the best part of town in a nice car. I had to drive through for a dr. apt for my neck.

 

i hate cops that don't listen to your story. they just write the ticket just to meet their quota. that happened to me at a stop sign and i'm 17.

That sucks. The fine amount is usually not as bad as paying the rate increase on your insurance for a moving violation. In FLA, the county fine amount is $208. GL in court.

 

If theres no other witnesses, and no red light traffic camera, your best bet is to go to court and hopefully the cop doesn't show. The judge might then just drop your ticket.

I got pulled over for nearly the same exact thing (made a right turn on yellow, cop said it was red) and my ticket cost me $380 including traffic school.

Why don't you look at the statute or ordinance regarding that offense. It probably reads that you cannot enter the intersection on red. You should have entered the intersection when you crossed the stop line across the traffic lane just before you entered the intersection. Therefore, you should be legal. Same as if you pulled out but had to wait until yellow for a break in opposing traffic for a left turn in the intersection.

They can be just like in any other profession..Doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, DMV employees, Lexus service advisors, etc. etc. can be a**holes too. I'm sure we all work or know of one. You can't fix stupid!
