Got an Automated Red Light Ticket...anyone else?
Is there a clear cut law of when you actually run the red light? I just got a damn automated ticket in the mail. It was here in Dallas, TX. I thought if any part of the car is past the line(even a bumper or front tires) while the light is still yellow then it's not considered running a red. I checked the photo carefully and I ran it by 0.33 seconds. Half of my car was past the line in the photo. Here in TX it's just $75 for your first violation with no points. I heard in Cali it's about $350 lol. Talk about a cash revenue machine!
I think in my area it's $396 a ticket. Good thing I've never got one. When I went to traffic school a long while back, the guy up front asked who's here because of a red light camera. I'd say about 90% of the people there raised their hands.

The rule is, the moment the light turns red, your car should be entirely past the line.

In some states, like GA, they can tell if your rate of speed is increasing from the point where the white lines start and the light changes yellow. If you speed up through the white lines, you get a ticket for running the red just the same as if you would have actually run it. My sister just got one of those...
I forgot to say you can buy a spray that will make a glare on your plate so the camera can not get the numbers. And it does work
