Default people do NOT know how to drive...

hey everyone. new CL member, well fairly new. Don't post too often but this incident today has got me pretty angry. I was parked on the street and as i was walking towards my car i see a woman driving a toyota sienna backing up into the spot behind me and as shes backing up i hear a crunching scratching noise. Needless to say, she hit my car. I was absolutely ready to kill someone at that point, especially since i ALREADY have car damages to pay for from a previous accident. My mom pretty much forced me to settle without dealing with insurance so the guy forked over $400 cash. So what do you guys think? should i fix it? how much is it gonna cost? or should i just touch-up paint it like my dad is "suggesting". The damage is on the drivers side, quarter panel and rear bumper. Check out the pics let me know what you guys think. thanks!

seeing the color of your car, i would at least do the touch up. it's all your decision because if it bothers you every time you see, get it fixed. if it doesn't, then don't worry about it. 400 seems a bit low for how much you got though.

i think the damage is going to cost more then 400 bucks. Its really hard to match your paint. I would never take cash, rather have the insuance handle it!!

i doubt $400 will cover the cost to fix. from what a body shop told me, paint is one of the more expensive fixes.

At least you caught the person. I had a thread recently where my fender and bumper got *expletive here* up when some noob customer from my workplace backed out like an idiot. It's rusting all over and I don't have a penny to show for it.

I would suggest taking it to a body shop to get an exact quote for the total cost before accepting any $$$ for payment. From the pictures, the damage and the cost to repaint is going to cost a lot more than $400. I'm thinking at least $1G for paint and labor.

You should save yourself the trouble and have insurance deal with it. Thats what you pay for insurance.

Avoid the insurance. Get a couple of estimates, sb significantly under $1000.

Yeah I just recently came out of class a few weeks ago to greet a giant dent on my body line and a ripple below it... some people need to burn. You don't damage someones vehicle and not own up. That's what insurance is for

i woulda took all the persons info. down and at least take it to a body shop near u. insurance is beat to use for something that small so i can understand the 400$, but you should get a couple quotes and tell the guy it's a lexus and it's paint is expensive haha. can't cover that up with touch-up it's all cracked, do what you must but i would say run to some shops and give them the paint code and ask what they need to do. i don;t think you should be looking at more than 800-900$..or i'd personnaly go hunt the guy down if its more ..or just use insurance for that matter lol
